Laboratory Services

LABORATORY DEPARTMENT
  

 

              Examines and analyzes any or all samples of human and other related tissues, fluids, secretions, excretions, to include non-human materials evacuated or removed from the human body, for the determination of existence of pathogenic organisms, processes or conditions in the person from which the samples are obtained. Performs all laboratory examinations which aids clinicians to their clinical diagnosis.

OBJECTIVES
  •  To carry on the standards, values and regulations set forth by the Department of Health (DOH) as monitored by the Bureau of Health facilities and Services as well as the Philippine Health insurance Corporation
  • To build a dynamic organization, continually improving our delivery of laboratory services and our capability of resourcefulness.
  • To attend and participate in scientific meetings, seminars, and other continuing medical and paramedical eductaion
  • to continue to provide opportunities to render consultation of medical cases in professional manner and as teammates of a professional staff.
PROCESSING AND WORKFLOW
             OPD Laboratory request for blood chemistry are extracted at 6 to 7 AM and will be released at 10 AM. Other labs will be released after 1 hour . Only routine blood chemistry for in patients will be collected by the assigned med tech from 3 Am to 4 AM then released at 6 AM. Blood specimens of infants, children less than one year old, patient in shock or with difficult veins shall be extracted by the medical staff/resident.
 
            Only one printed copy will be furnished for the patient’s chart. A second copy will be written in the laboratory logbook. Duplicate copies when requested by the relative may be photocopied then brought to the Records Section for certification with a fee of P20.00.
Since we do not have histopath and cytology exam, availability of reports will depend on the laboratory of choice.
 
STAT REQUEST: Are given immediate priority. Results will be followed up by the nurse attendant after one hour. OPD lab requested may be done outside depending on the patient’s choice
 

ER PATIENTS: When advised blood extraction and not yet admitted, med tech on duty may be called from the laboratory. Result will be followed up by the relatives.
