Seminar on Overview of the HW Manifest Process

Laguna Medical Center

The Laguna Medical Center (LMC) headed by Dr. Edgar M. Palacol attended the “Overview of the Hazardous Waste (HW) Manifest Process” seminar on February 8, 2018 at the LMC Board Room through Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Molette R. Gonzales.

The event was facilitated by Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions Inc., the agency that collects, transports, and treats hazardous waste from different government hospitals in Laguna, and was participated in by the chiefs of hospitals and their respective PCOs.

The orientation guided the participants in the new guidelines of the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR) regarding on-line manifest system where a collaborative discussion was undertaken just to understand the process.

Speaker from Cleanway Ms. Frances Claire Gordon emphasized the importance and the procedure in following the new guideline which states that the waste generator should be responsible in applying the Permit to Transport (PTT) as well as the HW manifest through on-line. The transporter is in charge of the process in application for the transport manifest; treatment, storage and disposal (TSD) manifest; and the approval of the Certificate of Treatment.
