PTO in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic

Provincial Treasurer's Office
June 26, 2020

The Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO) never ceased in rendering its mandated services to our constituents during this difficult times brought about by the onslaught of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Though faced with some restrictions under the “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act” (i.e. mandatory call for social distancing), officers and employees reported for work under the alternate work schedule and a 4-day work week scheme.

As the Head of Office, Mrs. Evelyn A. De Guzman has always been in the forefront of the group so that all functions are operating smoothly even when Enhanced/General Community Quarantine is in place.

One of the primary tasks is the processing and issuance of checks for the Financial Assistance Program of the Governor. As per record, a total of 2,026 checks were already issued to concerned beneficiaries covering the period March 3 to June 16, 2020.

The program is a collaborative effort with the Provincial Social Welfare Department Office (PSWDO), for acceptance and evaluation of required documents; and with the Office of the Governor, for the approval and signing of the checks.

In addition to this, Disbursing Officer Ms. Avegail C. Clavaton distributed the payment of Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Grants for Academic Year 2018 - 2019 to 71 beneficiary-students of Laguna University on June 18, 2020.

The activity was done following all health protocols at the Cashier’s Office of the University located at the Laguna Sports Complex in Barangay Bubukal, Santa Cruz, Laguna.
