PSGDO holds 3rd Gov. Ramil Swim Meet

   The Provincial Sports and Games Development Office (PSGDO) conducted the 3rd Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez Age Group Swimming Competition on September 1-2, 2018 at the Laguna Sports Complex, Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

   The swimming competition was the 5th Governor’s Cup Tournament Competition implemented by PSGDO for this year. The two-day swimming competition was joined by more than 300 swimmers from Laguna and other provinces including Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan and Rizal.

    A brief opening ceremony was held on the first day of the tournament where each of the 16 participating teams were acknowledged by Tournament Director Coach Philip Luna. The Governor’s message was delivered by his representative, Mr. Dennis Villavecer.

   For Sports Development Officer Gerardo S. Cantada, it is through the conduct of local sports competitions that Laguna athletes are given the chance to further hone their skills and evaluate their performance.

   Laguna ranked 2nd overall in the 2017 Batang Pinoy Luzon Leg and the qualifiers, 12 of which are swimmers, will be advancing to the National Finals in Baguio City on September 15-21, 2018.

   The provincial government provided medals including trophies for the top teams and Most Outstanding Swimmers (MOS) of the tournament.

   Meanwhile, Splash and Dash Sports provided additional tents and freebies for all the MOS.

   Here are the results of top finishers: (first place) Pakil Springs Swimming Team; (second place) Lake City Swimming Club; (third place) Laguna Barracudas Swim Club; (fourth place) Pakil Turumba Swim Club; (fifth place) Aqua Razours Swim Team.
