PCDO pushes for Coop Bayanihan amid pandemic

Provincial Cooperative Development Office
September 9, 2020

September 3, 2020 – Adhering to the 6th universal cooperative principle which is cooperation among cooperatives, the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO) adopted the concept of Coop Bayanihan Program among members of the Laguna Credit Surety Fund (LCSF) to ease the plight of jeepney drivers in this time of pandemic.

The Laguna Employees Multi-purpose Cooperative (LEMPCO), the newest member of LCSF lent a helping hand to the members of the Sta. Cruz Calumpang Operators and Drivers Association Transport Service Cooperative (SCCODATSC).

The LEMPCO donated a total of 26 cavans of rice for distribution to 260 members of the cooperative who have lost their source of livelihood because of the transport and travel restrictions since March of this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Engr. Edwin Bautista, PCDO Head LEMPCO Chairman, led the turnover of donated items to the officers of said transport cooperative, together with Ms. Josephine Yaneza and Mr. Jojo Moreto, LEMPCO Secretary and BOD member, respectively.
