PCDO promotes cooperative tourism

October 9, 2020 – Twenty one (21) residents of Barangay Sulsuguin, Nagcarlan, Laguna participated in the cooperative orientation seminar facilitated by the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO) led by Mr. Edwin Bautista.

The seminar attendees are members of the Yambo Lake Livelihood Association, a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-registered organization of residents living in the surrounding area of Yambo Lake.

The volunteer organization was awarded by the local government of Nagcarlan the authority to maintain and develop the tourist attraction site of said municipality.

The participants were given lecture on the basic knowledge about cooperative, its history in the Philippines, fundamental concept and principles, capitalization, organizational structure and the requirements and procedures for cooperative registration with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA).

The PCDO Head also explained to the officers the concept of the coop tourism program of the provincial government and how the cooperative could contribute to the livelihood of the members and boost the tourism prospects in their locality.
