MOU signing between PGL and BSP and launching of the BSP Knowledge Resource Network

The Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL) and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate the establishment of the BSP Knowledge Resource Network (KRN) at a ceremony held at the Laguna Provincial Capitol Extension in Brgy. Halang, Calamba City, Laguna on 15 April 2019.

The MOU was signed by Ms. Edna Aleja G. Aquino and Ms. Maria Farah D. Angka representing BSP Manila and Lucena Branch, while PGL was represented by Governor Ramil L. Hernandez and Provincial Librarian Ms. Justina P. Garcia.

The MOU initially covers collaborative effort by participating in the BSP KRN, confirming both parties’ commitment in promoting the understanding of essential economic and financial concepts, and issues affecting the country’s economy, through the exchange of information resources between and among its network members therefore enhancing the continued support from the BSP to PGL, particularly to the Laguna Provincial Library (LPL).  

In his message, Gov. Hernandez expressed his deep gratitude for BSP’s support to PGL, contributing positively to the strengthening of education and learning through the BSP KRN Program. He was also amazed by what the partnership can achieve upon seeing the AVP presentation showing KRN’s goals and objectives.

Furthermore, a message from BSP was delivered by Ms. Edna Aleja G. Aquino, Deputy Director BSP Lucena Branch. She greatly acknowledged the partnership and that the MOU was strongly supported by the BSP. She encouraged the department heads and employees of PGL to promote the understanding through information and knowledge sharing, cultural exchange, and other educational initiatives to fully establish strong relationship between the two organizations.

Finally, the acceptance message was delivered by Ms. Justina P. Garcia, Provincial Librarian. She expressed her profound gratitude to Governor Hernandez and to BSP Manila and Lucena branches, represented by Asst. Governor Ms. Iluminada T. Sicat, in pursuing the cooperation in education matters and to promote mutual understanding with the pursuit of common benefits and collaborative development of economic and financial information.
