Laguna qualifies in 14th ASEAN Taekwondo Federation Championships 2019

Laguna’s Legolas Peñaredondo, 14, Kian Graydon Ashe, 17, Kira Cassidy L. Ramos, 13, and Rodolfo Sebastian Lange L. Ramos, 16, are set to represent the Philippines in the upcoming 2019 ASEAN Taekwondo Federation Championships slated on May 4-5, 2019 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, Pasay City.

Peñaredondo will be playing in the cadet under 65kgs. category and Ashe in juniors under 51 kgs. Siblings Kira and Rodolfo will be competing in the cadet under 41 kgs. and juniors under 55 kgs., respectively. They  trained under Laguna and represented the province in past editions of the Philippine Youth Games or the Batang Pinoy.

Peñaredondo and Ashe are members of the Dynamic Taekwondo Club of Sta. Cruz under Coach Bienvenido Romero, IV while, Kira and Rodolfo are members of DOJO Taekwondo Club of Biñan City under Coach Danny Guerrero.

Laguna Sports Development Officer Gerardo S. Cantada is proud of the achievements of said athletes and is confident that through the continuous implementation of sports development programs including sports clinics and local competitions in partnership with Local Sports Associations, the Province of Laguna will continue to produce competitive athletes.

 The ASEAN Taekwondo Federation Championships will be hosted by the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and will be attended by eight countries including the Philippines, Brunei, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, Timor Leste, Cambodia, and Singapore.
