September 21, 2020

On September 10-11, 2020, the Field Agricultural Extension Services-Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (FAES-OPAg) conducted a training on calamansi production at the municipality of Cavinti’s nursery in Brgy. Inao-awan, facilitated Supervising Agriculturist Genoveva D. Aquino and Agriculturist II Corazon F. Calabia.

The municipality of Cavinti requested the two-day training for their farmers, seeing calamansi as an important cash crop especially with its increasing demand as plant material.

Mrs. Calabia discussed the preparation of planting materials on day 1 and the cost and return analysis on day 2, while Mrs. Aquino discussed the methodology on cultivating calamansi plant as well as on how it is produced and managed during growth and development.

The said training was composed of approximately 20 participants who strictly followed safety and health protocols particularly social distancing, so did the facilitators.
