Provincial Sports and Games Development Office

January 12, 2020

December 16, 2019 - Medalists and coaches of the Province of Laguna in the 2019 Batang Pinoy (BP)-Philippine Youth Games National Championship paid a courtesy call on Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez.

The BP medalists received cash incentives from the Governor at the function hall of Sta. Cruz Central Elementary School in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

The Laguna delegation composed of 54 medalists and 22 coaches collected 29 gold, 26 silver, and 18 bronze medals in the national finals, securing 4th place for the province in the overall medal tally.

As the 4th overall champion, Laguna will be receiving a Php1.5 million cash incentive from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), along with other LGUs in the top five including Baguio City (first), Cebu City (second), Davao City (third) and Quezon City (fifth).

Governor Hernandez assured the athletes, coaches and parents of the full support of the provincial government in the province’s sports development programs.

Aside from Governor Hernandez, the winners were also welcomed and congratulated by Provincial Administrator Atty. Dulce H. Rebanal and Sports Development Officer Gerardo S. Cantada.

Laguna is the only province in this year’s Top 5 LGUs after Pangasinan Province settled at 6th place in the said national youth games held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on 25-31 August 2019.
