  OVERVIEW OF THE LAGUNA PROVINCIAL JAIL
 
Manual of Operations of Provincial Jails pursuant to the instruction of the President to the DILG and Department of Justice dated January 4, 1994, Section 14 states the Governor of the province is mandated to administer the Provincial Jail towards a better system of Jail Administration, safekeeping and rehabilitation of offenders.
 
 
 
JAIL BACKGROUND
The Laguna Provincial Jail is located at Brgy San Pablo Sur. Sta. Cruz, Laguna with a total land area of 1.5 hectares, bounded by rice field in the East part towards the direction of Brgy Maytalang, Lumban, Laguna, at the West by an old railroad track connected to a cemented road wherein both sides were occupied by squatters, at the North by rice field and residential lots in the direction of the Laguna de Bay while at the South portion is areas of Brgy Pagsawitan, Sta Cruz, Laguna. It is more or less 500 meters away from Laguna Prov’l Capitol.
 
 
The jail premises was surrounded with perimeter wall fence ten (10) feet high with three (3) strands of barbed wire attached to the tube pipe two (2) feet long inclining 45 degrees inside the jail compound.
 
MISSION
To receive, secure and rehabilitate sentenced and detention prisoners committed to this jail and to escort them to different courthouses and other destination and to release/transfer prisoners as ordered by competent authorities.
 
VISION 
The Laguna Provincial Jail committed itself to a safe, sound jail management which aimed for a total inmate human development and to make them law-abiding and productive citizen upon their return to the mainstream of the society.
 
FUNCTIONS
To receive and take into custody, secure and rehabilitate sentenced and detention prisoners committed to this Jail by competent Courts and to the different courthouses and other destination as ordered.
 
OBJECTIVES 
1. To maintain a clean, orderly and safe jail premises.
2. To prepare the inmates socially, physically, spiritually upon their release.
3. To develop and attend to the welfare of Jail personnel to be competent, dedicated and honest in the performance of their duties.
4. To manage the jail resources wisely, efficiently and economically.
 
JAIL ORGANIZATION
The LAGUNA PROVINCIAL JAIL is headed by the Provincial Warden who shall be assisted by an Assistant and such number of jail guards (Jailers) and civilian personnel as may be necessary.
 
The LPJ office has three (3) divisions, namely: (1) ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES manned by AO III Raymond Tantoco, (2) SECURITY, CONTROL & CUSTODY SERVICES with the supervision of PG III Norberto Dela Cruz, (3) REHABILITATION SERVICES operated by PG II Leovino Blanza, and supported by Office Sections, namely: INTELLIGENCE AND INVESTIGATION / RECEIVING and RELEASING SECTION with PG III Conrado J. Soriano as head, SUBPOENA / ESCORT GROUP AND RECORDS / STATISTIC Section under the operation of PG II Lawie G. Rondilla.
