Attaining sustainable food security and alleviating the poverty of farmers and fisherfolks within the safe, healthy and environment-friendly policy frameworks.

  1. To achieve self-sufficiency in food production, particularly in rice by the year 2011, sustain the surplus in fish, fruits, vegetable and rootcrops.
  2. To increase farmers income through increased productivity and income, and in the process improve the quality of life of our farmers.
  1. The field of Agricultural Extension Service under the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, directs, coordinates, promotes, supervises and implements national developed programs in agriculture and fishery that would help improve the socio-economic status of the small and fishing communities to a sustainable level through increased production and profit
  2. Develops programs for agriculture such as crops, home extension, rural youths and fishery development;
  3. Organizes and assists in the formation of cooperatives and farmer/fisherman organizations
  4. Formulates/implements and supervises research activities conducts soil testing activities
  5. Production of quality fingerlings and seedlings of fruit trees
  6. Maintains special projects and facilities such as Soils Laboratory, Fishery Station and Provincial Demonstration Farm Complex that serves as the show window for different aspects of Agriculture or Agri-business enterprise.
  1. To uplift the standard of living of farm/fishing community to a sustainable level through increased productivity and profitability and to attain self-sufficiency and security in all agricultural and fishery products.
  2. To maintain rice production at no less than 6.5 metric ton/ha. During dry and 5.5 metric ton/ha. during wet season through the use of certified & hybrid seeds.
  3. To promote environment friendly farm practices on rice and vegetable production.
  4. To encourage farmer to optimize fertilizer usage through regular testing and analysis.
  5. Augment income of farm/fishery families through.
  6. Promotion of income generating projects
  7. Distribution of fingerlings, vegetables seeds and seedlings of fruit trees.
  8. Training on agricultural/vocational skills
  9. To encourage farmers, backward growers and school/government. personnel to plant vegetables in order to attain self-sufficiency.
  10. To protect and conserve freshwater resources through enforcement of fishery rules, laws and regulation.
  11. To strengthen small farmer cooperatives and association.
  12. To improve quality standard of vegetable thru orientation and training. 13. To train farmers/fisherfolks in agricultural/vocational skills.
