PGL holds first ever “That’s My teacher” Singing Contest

 STA. CRUZ, Laguna – In celebration of National Teachers’ Month 2017, Governor Ramil L. Hernandez and the Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL) hosted the first ever “That’s My Teacher” Singing Contest recently held at the Cultural Center of Laguna, through the Laguna Tourism, Culture, Arts & Trade Office headed by Dr. Rosauro Sta. Maria.

 
The event was organized by PGL to show the Governor’s deep appreciation and gratitude to teachers who are well-known to devote their lives, spending extra time and effort to help students perform well in their studies; positively build their character and eventually help them to fulfill their dreams.
 
Twenty-nine (29) teachers from elementary and high school levels in the province joined the competition. Grand prize winner is Mark Israel A. Alvarez of Majada Out Elementary School-Calamba City bringing home P30,000.00; 1st runner up Kimberly A. Urriza of Talangan Integrated NHS-Nagcarlan won P20,000.00; and 2nd runner up Alan C. Denate of Alaminos Integrated NHS- Alaminos brought home P10,000.00. The rest of the twenty-six (26) non-winners received P3,000.00 each as consolation prize.
 

 

 


Other activities for the day featured free massage and facial care for the hardworking teachers courtesy of 2nd District Board Member Ruth Mariano-Hernandez.  Vice Governor Atty. Karen C. Agapay and Laguna Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Josilyn S. Solana of DepEd were also in attendance. (PIO Laguna)
