Larvicide distribution for mosquito control in Cabuyao City, Laguna

January 19, 2018

CABUYAO CITY, Laguna -Governor Ramil L. Hernandez recently distributed ten (10) sacks of larvicides for the Provincial Government of Laguna’s War against Mosquito (WAM) espoused by the Department of Health, during the Serbisyong Tama Caravan recently held in Brgy. Poblacion 3 in this city.

Larvicides control mosquitoes at the larval stage, targeting their breeding habitats before they develop into adult mosquitoes.  Said pesticides help reduce adult mosquito population, and largely minimize the damage they can cause to humans.

The activity is part of the provincial government’s Dengue Prevention & Control and Malaria Health programs in its effort to control mosquitoes that bring diseases like dengue fever, Chikungunya, and the Zika virus.

Assisting the Governor were Senior Board member Ruth Mariano-Hernandez; Provincial Health Officer Dr. Rene Bagamasbad; and officials of Barangay Poblacion 3, Cabuyao City. (PIO Laguna)
