Laguna sports fest for 119th PCSA celebration kicks off

Led by Governor Ramil L. Hernandez, the provincial government of Laguna (PGL) kicked off its sports fest for the 119th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) celebration held at the provincial capitol Time Plaza on 09 September 2019.

Hundreds of PGL employees were grouped into six clusters and held a parade that ran along A. Teodoro St., through the town plaza, and back to the capitol compound.

In the short program held after the weekly flag raising ceremony, each cluster presented its own muse and escort for the Best Muse & Escort competition where Green Cluster D won 1st Place, Blue cluster F at 2nd, and Violet Cluster B at 3rd place.

All winners were awarded cash prizes and sashes, with non-winners receiving cash.

The 2019 PCSA celebration theme is: “Civil Service at 119: Upholding Integrity and Building a High-Trust Society,” where activities, according to the Philippine Civil Service Commission, “are meant to remind us of improving ourselves and the quality of our service for the benefit of the Filipino people.”

Moreover, the anniversary celebration is also anchored on one of AmBisyon Natin 2040’s key areas for development planning, which is building a high-trust society.

Spearheaded by the Philippine Civil Service Commission, the celebration commemorates the enactment of Public Law No. 5, “An Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of an Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippine Islands” on 19 September 1900 and held annually in the month of September.
