Laguna holds grand parade during 447th founding anniversary

STA. CRUZ, Laguna – The provincial government of Laguna (PGL) held a grand parade in the morning of July 27, 2018 to start the 5th day of Laguna’s six-day 447th founding anniversary celebration from July 23-28, 2018. The parade ran along the National Highway from Southbay Montessori School and ended at the provincial capitol compound.

Governor Ramil L. Hernandez, who celebrated his birthday on July 26, watched the parade from the balcony of the old capitol building, with most of the well-wishers performing short presentations. PGL employees, municipal LGUs, local and national agencies, sectoral and civic groups, private corporations and associations, DepEd, PNP, Philippine Army, and NGOs in the province joined the activity.

Another highlight of the day was the visit of Secretary Francis N. Tolentino, political adviser of President Rodrigo Duterte, who spoke at the Laguna Cultural Center before a crowd composed of municipal mayors and vice mayors,  barangay officials and multisectoral groups of the province. He expressed his admiration for the unmistakeable success of Gov. Hernandez’s 8-Point program of governance in implementing PGL’s plans and programs that benefit his constituents.

Other activities included an entertainment show, awarding of centenarians with ballroom dancing at the Cultural Center of Laguna, culminating in the Arbor Day celebration on July 28 with a tree planting activity in the municipality of Bay, Laguna. (PIO Laguna)
