Laguna holds First Laguna Inclusive Education Extravaganza

BAY, Laguna – Governor Ramil L. Hernandez fully supported the Department of Education (DepEd) Laguna’s holding of the First Laguna Inclusive Education Extravaganza with the theme "Inclusive Education the Heart of Social Responsibility," recently held at Lolo’s Place in Barangay Sto. Domingo.

The Governor led the signing of the Pledge of Commitment, together with Laguna Schools Superintendent Dr. Josilyn S. Solana, vowing to stay “Committed to making Laguna a more inclusive province where education is valued and respected. YES to Inclusive Education.”

Inclusive education aims to provide children with disabilities (CWDs) the opportunity to receive their full education, irrespective of the type and extent of their disability and required corresponding academic services, within the confines of the regular classroom.

All children have the right to education, including CWDS, covered by the Philippine Law in the Magna Carta for Persons with Disabilities, and in international law in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities which was ratified in the Philippines in the year 2008. (PIO Laguna)
