Laguna holds 4th Organic Agriculture Congress

STA. CRUZ, Laguna – Governor Ramil L. Hernandez and the Provincial Government of Laguna held its 4th Organic Agriculture and 1st Agri-Fishery Congress at the provincial capitol compound on the third week of November 2017.
 
Featured during the first day were the ceremonial launching of the Green Revolution for Laguna Household, oath taking of Laguna Farmers’ Association, and ribbon cutting for the trade fair that showcased organic agricultural products of the province.
 
Other activities of the week include awarding of organic agriculture achievers; fishery forum and fish processing hands-on demo; technology updates on coconut and asexual propagation of fruit trees; 4H Youth Congress; on the spot painting, photography, extemporaneous speech contest and quiz bowl, among many others.
     

Organized by the Field Agriculture Extension Services-Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (FAES-OPAg) headed by Mr. Marlon Tobias, the event aims to raise public awareness on the advantages of organic farming that does not utilize hazardous and toxic chemicals, benefitting not only humans but the environment as well; and latest developments on farm mechanization, and aquaculture or fish farming.
