Laguna holds “TakboKontraYosi” color fun run

STA. CRUZ, Laguna – In his bid to continue adhering to the move for mandatory implementation of a 100% smoke-free environment, covering all Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL) offices and hospitals since January 2015, Governor Ramil L. Hernandez led the “Takbo Kontra Yosi: Towards Smoke-Free Laguna” Color Run recently held at the provincial capitol Time Plaza.

The event started with a program highlighted by the Governor cutting a huge dummy cigarette. He also signed a Pledge of Commitment, stressing his unrelenting full support to the cause and encouraging smokers to break the habit for a healthy life, and fostering a safe environment for all Lagunenses.

He afterwards led a warm up aerobic exercise immediately followed by the race that started at the Time Plaza, running down the streets of Sta. Cruz Poblacion, and turning around at the public market, then back to the provincial capitol compound.

More or less five hundred (500) people composed of PGL officers and employees, private citizens, NGOs, students and athletes supporting the anti-smoking campaign participated in the activity. (PIO Laguna)
