Governor Hernandez unveils LPCE perspective in Calamba, Laguna

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – Governor Ramil L. Hernandez unveiled the perspective of the future Laguna Provincial Capitol Extension (LPCE) at the former Hectan Commercial Complex in Brgy. Halang, Calamba City on July 25, 2018. It shows the front view image of the soon to rise extension building of the provincial government of Laguna (PGL).

Governor Hernandez emphasized his commitment to bring the delivery of basic services of PGL closer to his constituents.  That is why he rented a portion of the Hectan main building ground floor as extension of the Office of the Governor since June 2016, offering free services like medical, financial, legal assistance and other social services to residents of the 1st and 2nd districts of the province. Thousands of Laguna residents have since saved time, effort and money because they no longer have to go to the provincial capitol in Sta. Cruz to seek assistance.

Realizing the far-reaching impact that this setup could provide in terms of making frontline services within reach of the people, the governor set out to turn the commercial center into a provincial capitol extension – the first of its kind to rise in the province.

It is in this light that Gov. Ramil’s administration decided that instead of renting, it is better to purchase the 14,098 square meter complex for Php 275 million. The possible income that can be generated from rentals of office buildings inside the complex alone is close to Php 1 million per month.

In his speech, Gov. Ramil presented the accomplishments of his administration since he assumed office in May 2014 under his 8-Point Program of good governance. It has always been his aspiration to provide the best services to his constituents, motivated by his desire to provide a better life for the Lagunenses, especially the underprivileged and the marginalized sectors.

Developing the present Hectan main building into an extension of the provincial capitol is a dream come true, with the Governor remaining steadfast and immovable in his determination to uplift the lives of his fellow Lagunenses.

Also present in the occasion were Senator Cynthia Villar as guest speaker, Vice Governor Atty. Karen C. Agapay, Senior Board Member Ruth Mariano-Hernandez, Calamba City Mayor and Vice Mayor Timmy Chipeco and Ross Rizal, respectively, other members of the Laguna Provincial Board, and PGL officials and employees.  (PIO Laguna)
