Second FFS-SPF in Sta. Cruz, Laguna

Office of the Provincial Veterinarian

July 21, 2017

Another Farmers’ Field School on Sustainable Pig Farming (FFS-SPF) was launched on July 19, 2017 in Barangay Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna. This is a partnership between the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian and the Jesus the Anointed One Church headed by Rev. Victoria Bandillo.  The participants are all members of the Jesus the Anointed One Church who are into swine and poultry raising.

The FFS-SPF will be conductedevery Wednesdayfor 14 weeks, from July 19 to the middle of October. This activity is an off-shoot of the just concluded Sta. Cruz FFS-SPF. Five of the participants of the said FFS are members of Jesus the Anointed One Church, one of whom was Rev. Bandillo. They saw the benefits of this activity and wanted to share the knowledge they learned with the other members of their congregation. Thus, a partnership between the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian and Jesus the Anointed One was formed.

For the first day, the participants immediately buckled down to workafter a brief launching and the mandatory pre-test. Mr.Camilo B. Palacol, Agricultural Technologist of the OPV, discussed swine housing.
