PPO-Clinical joins Brigada Eskwela 2018

 Provincial Population Office-Clinical Services

The Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela, with this year’s theme Pagkakaisa Para sa Handa, Ligtas at Matatag na Paaralan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan” is a yearly event that aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and share their time, effort and resources to ensure that public school facilities are ready, safe and more conducive for learning come the opening of classes in June.

In relation to this, Mahabang Parang Elemementary School in Brgy. Limao in Calauan Laguna conducted its first medical mission on June 7, sponsored by Provincial Population Office-Clinical Services represented by staff midwives Fe Velasco and Daisy Morales. They were able to perform 12 free Pap smear tests.

A Pap smear or Pap test is a simple, quick and essentially painless screening procedure for early detection of cancer or pre-cancer of uterine cervix. It is regularly organized by PPO-Clinical to cater to women who rarely undergo such test to lower the risk of getting cervical cancer.
