PPO-Clinical conducts free “Operation Tuli”

Provincial Population Office-Clinical Services

The Provincial Population Office (PPO)-Clinical Services headed by Dra. Elizabeth Bacsafra conducted “Operation Tuli” where a total of twenty-six (26) young boys were provided free circumcision services with free medicines at the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Lumban, Laguna on 29 May 2018,

Circumcision or tuli is a widely accepted old tradition usually practiced not only for religious or cultural reasons, but also for proper hygiene and health habit purposes.Traditionally, those undergoing circumcision were given some guava leaves to chew but nowadays the boys are given local anesthetics to numb the groin area.

The activity was made possible through the coordinated effort of PPO-CS staff headed by the ever supportive Dr. Bacsafra, likewise with the help and support of midwives namely: Frances Reyes, Daisy Morales, Brenda David, Ma. Lourdes Garcia, Eusebia Abadier, Sharon Oblea and Rhoda Almario who equally gave their share in making the operation “tuli” a success.
