PG-ENRO at the start of 2017

Provincial Government-Environment & Natural Resources Office

February 15, 2017

The onset of the year 2017 has been usually busy for the Provincial Government-Environment & Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO). On January 6, nursery workers preared bamboo sticks  to be used in the repair of the potting shed. They later planted ornamental plants and watered nursery seedlings.

On the 11th, loader driver Mr. Danny Isureña was requested to transfer confiscated sand from the road to the nursery area. Meanwhile, twenty (20) cosmos seedlings were transplanted from seedbed to the area near the road.

Two hundred sixty four (264) seedlings of auri were replanted to potted soil media and transferred  non viable potted soil media to vacant spaces on January 19. The following day, Pila and Pagsanjan were surveyed for potential areas for seed collection (caballero and golden shower).
Then on January 23, the flooring of the kitchen area was cemented and  and cementing the floor of the potting shed area was started.

ENRO staff also attended the monthly meeting of LIMAS MARINA in Nagcarlan, Laguna. ENRO accomplishments were also discussed such as distribution of tarpaulin prohibiting the burning of wastes to different barangays in Mabitac, Pangil and Kalayaan and the distribution of The Laguna Sentinel, local newspaper containing the Environmental Code of Laguna to inform the public about the implementation of the said Code.

In between these dates are the regular cleaning, weeding, watering, and general upkeep of the whole provincial nursery area.
