LU-RDC conducts 3-day Seminar on Research

     To strengthen the research culture among the students and faculty of Laguna University (LU), the LU-Research and Development Center (LU-RDC) sponsored a 3-day research seminar on February 13-15, 2017, with the theme “Rediscovering the Research Process among Laguna University Faculty and Staff.” 

     With the joint efforts of Prof. Monette O. Bato, Vice President for Research, Planning and Extension and Dr. Marie Joy Q. Elomina, Director, Research and Development Center, faculty members of the College of Education (COED), College of Entrepreneurship, Management and Accountancy (CEMA) College of Arts,Sciences and Technology (CAST), College of Engineering, College of Health Sciences (CHS) and Senior High School (SHS) Department convened for this goal. 

     On the first day of the seminar, Dr. Marie Joy Q. Elomina welcomed the participants and explained its objectives. Prof. Marc Lester Quintana RN, Assistant Research Director, discussed the “Implications of Action Research to the Continuous Improvement. He also dwelled on Policy Recommendation of K-12 Senior High School Program Implementation,” while Dr. Elomina took over the afternoon session with the topic, “Research Editing 101.” 

     On the second day, Dr. Joanne V. Serrano, Director of University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Multimedia and Information Center, discussed “The Research Process” while Engr. Paul Gerard Lasangre-Cruz, Dean of the College of Engineering, talked about “Research Statistics” on the 3rd day. This session gave the faculty members a clear view of how to efficiently use statistics in quantitative research. A question and answer portion followed after every topic.  

     The research seminar workshop was conducted by the LU-RDC not only to deepen the research skills of the faculty but also to instill in them a positive attitude towards research.
