In its thrust to boost economic growth and bring efficient public service, the municipal government of Lumban, through Mr. Benson A. del Valle, Market Specialist, is currently taking on feasible means to improve the services and facilities of its local economic enterprise   particularly the public market and the slaughterhouse.
 
As part of this endeavor, an orientation on Good Hygienic Slaughtering Practices (GHSP) was held on August 4, 2016 at the LumbanSanggunian session hall. The orientation was attended by the butchers and meat vendors of Lumban. The Guidelines on Good Hygienic Slaughtering Practices for Locally Registered Meat Establishments (DA AOno.19 s. 2010) with focus on the Requirements for Meat Inspectors/Meat Butchers/Meat Handlers and Humane Handling of Animals Prior to Slaughter was discussed. 
     After the orientation, an ocular inspection of the Lumban municipal slaughterhouse was made.
