ENRO Februaryplant nursery activities

The Provincial Government-Environment & Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) continues toimplement good nursery practices in its management of the provincial plant nursery.
 
Following are ENRO’s activities at the end of January till February of 2017.
 
Ø January 30  –– Collected mahogany seeds and watered seedlings and plants.
Ø January 31 to February 1 – Cleaned the area for pathway interconnecting the provincial plant Nursery to the materials recovery facility (approximately 240 sq.m.). Also, coordinated with Mr. Apostol, pump operator of Laguna Water for the master plan of the water distribution line to facilitate the service line leading to the MRF.
Ø February –Conducted seeds and seedlings collection in Pagsanjan and Magdalena, Laguna.
Ø February 3-  Supervised the hauling of boulders and SB from dump area to the area near the MRF . Sand was transfeered to the nursery area. A total of four bamboo poles were taken by GSO personnel as ordered by HRMO Mrs. Nida Rebenque to be used  as tarpaulin frame. Seeds of caballero were removed from the pod.
Ø February 6-7 –Weeded and cleaned nursery area. Prepared area to place potted seedlings.
Ø February 8 -   Continued cleaning the nursery area, potted ten (10) soil media and planted bamboo poles for trial purposes. Also, assessed an acacia tree for cutting near the Aglipayan Chapel in Brgy. Duhatas requested by Brgy. Chairman Benito  R. Bernardino
Ø February 9-10 – Potted seventy (70) soil media.  Bamboo frame was made for Provincial Plant Nursery tarpaulin later posted in front of the nursery.
Ø February 22-24 – Watered seedlings and planted 406 seeds of caballero to potted soil media. Cleaned the way leading to the MRF and toilet and toilet area respectively. Also, placed bamboo pole as hand guide.

Moreover, nursery workers cleaned the area and placedreconditioned potted soil media, then transferred caballero seedlings to another area due to falling bamboo leaves that can damage the seedlings.
